new song > cradle to the grave
Well – here is my latest song. I am calling it cradle to the grave. The main melody, which the sax plays, has been in my mind for some time. I did not really plan on doing it in a jazz style, and I am not particularly “jazz literate”, which any true jazz player will notice immediately. I was playing with the melody one day with the walking bass and noticed it worked – and , well, here you go. I want to thank Jon for his help on the chords, and Josh for the sax playing. It was actually a lot of fun to record, improving is a blast.
cradle to the grave
this world is terminally twisted
from the cradle to the grave
and for all the reasons listed, though fawn you,
oh no not a single one can save
but my friends I must warn you, of the time I must say
when all hell will break loose and they ‘ll come with a noose
and there’s no one left to save
na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
though your back might be breaking
and the sweat stings your eyes
and your loved ones forsaking my friends well I guess
you should not be surprised
we’re all chained to this world now
and we all got to pull
but to be in this worlds
not to be of this world
because that’s of a fool
yeah
sax solo
drum solo
it’s so good to be alive
i wouldn’t have it any other way
you and i have some choices to make
every day
from the cradle to the grave
na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, n
