new song > my lady

this song came about rather accidentally in response to my daughters request for something simple with no zaps and bleeps in my song…ahem… well I planned on a straightforward no zappz, but you will hear a few of these anyway – sorry Kaylee :-)- anyway this is a straightforward rocker, a little on the dirty (sonically) crunchy guitar, pumping bass and drums utilizing the glynJohnsMethod microphone placement…it has a kind of classic live drum room sound that I was pleased with, and I hope to be tweaking over the next few songs. The link I just provided has a good in depth description, and the thumbnail below shows a basic rough draft image (as seen looking at the drums from the front). The subkick I mentioned will be coming later, but I also used a new compressor called the Rocket on the drums (go ahead you can download and try for free). For the record, this song is not about my wife or daughter…you’d probably be quite surprised to know who it really is about – but that’s gonna have to stay in the artistic license area…you know, as I’ve said – you don’t want to peek too far behind the curtain, right? So – here is the song, and the lyrics are below

my lady

she said all i ever wanted from you
was to love me every way
she said all i ever wanted from you
was to make me high
she said all i ever wanted from you
was the all day every day
she said all i ever wanted from you
was the wings to fly

oh my my my my lady
oh my my my lady day

she said when you gonna make me feel
the way i am supposed to feel?
she said when you gonna show me
all the reasons why?
she said when you gonna give me
all the things i’m supposed to have
she said when you gonna understand
i need to hide?

oh my my my my lady
oh my my my lady day
